Visual artist and performer Russ Ligtas was one of the artists who made headlines during the Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival 2014.
Russ, who happened to be my SSEAYP batchmate (He also led most of our cultural performances in 2012), was buried in the ground for about 6 hours while wrapped in indigenous fabric and plastic. His performance and art installation in one entitled "Don't Feed the Natives" made headlines in the Philippines and caught the attention of many Malasimbo goers. | Bugkos Lahi and other SSEAYP batchmates |
In celebration of the 5th Anniversary, the Malasimbo family proudly introduces an entirely new concept that is already creating a buzz with the youth: The Malasimbo Lights & Dance Festival, set on March 13-15, as part of the organizers' pursuit of sustainable development by continuously innovating and providing quality entertainment to its loyal fans and its organically-growing audience.
So to all my friends, let's march to Puerto Galera this March
and experience the Malasimbo magic!!!
