As a certified probinsyana, I won’t be shy to say that I consider it as a big break that I will be in SMX Convention Center, not just as a participant but as a panel member in one of the topics in the 3rd Digital Influencers Marketing Summit.
Imagine a probinsyana from Bicol will be able to have a voice… a spot to share my story to current and aspiring digital influencers. I will be talking about my own journey as a digital marketer, the struggles and challenges and, in great part, how I overcome it to contribute to the success in Promoting Tourism, Travel, Culture through Digital Influencers and Social Media. I will share the time slot with Mr. Jonji Gonzales of TenMinutes.ph together with other invited influencers.
The invitation was extended a few weeks after the successful execution of #DateinDaet, a tourism advocacy campaign I spearheaded which was participated by good friends and key bloggers whom I met for the first time. That campaign was also supported by LGU Daet headed by Mayor Tito Sarte Sarion and various local businesses.
It is like a big dream unfolding in my eyes especially when I didn’t even thought about this possibility in the past. For so many times I visited SMX, I was always one of the participants, eagerly listening to various motivational speakers, industry shakers and movers sharing their expertise. I never thought that at my age, I will go to SMX Convention Center as a speaker. Today, I consider this a milestone to mark my quarter life journey.
I consider this event as one of my significant achievements so far. Personally, I feel that this wonderful blessing is an affirmation of what I have done and choices I’ve made in the past until now.
Staying in the province was and still IS a very big decision I make every day. I guess, choosing to stay in Bicol despite all the tempting offers is the most patriotic thing I’ve done so far. It is not that easy but with the flexibility of the digital marketing industry and my passion to pursue my advocacies, I am able to make it through. I constantly remind myself why I chose to stay. Every single day is a test of courage, dedication and decision.
I must admit that there were some instances that I asked myself if I made the right decision… I wonder if it was worth it. Today, with all conviction, I can clearly say that it is worth it. Today I realized that I must have done something right, not just for myself but for also the brand and my community to be invited by Ms.Janette Toral as one of the speakers. Learn more about my story and get practical tips not just from me but from other practitioners too when you attend the DIM Summit. |
