As a Pilgrim City, you can see a lot of people visiting Naga every September, just in time for the annual celebration of Peñafrancia fiesta. But more than just the fiesta and the celebrations, this gathering is about the spiritual exercise of the devotees, not only of Our Lady of Peñafrancia but also of Divino Rostro. Last Tuesday, I was able to participate in the Perdon Procession. I must admit that it wasn't on my original schedule that day but I guess aside from being full from the afternoon tea session at Avenue Plaza Hotel and pizza and pasta dinner buffet at Jack's Blue Plate Diner, I felt that it was just appropriate for me to do some spiritual exercise that evening. By joining the procession, I also asked for God's forgiveness for all my sins. Thousands of devotees from all walks of life gather at Metropolitan Cathedral to participate in the traditional evening procession of the image of Divino Rostro around the streets of Naga City. The procession started around 10 pm and ended past 11 pm. Devotees intimately whisper their prayers while holding the image of Divino Rostro. Watch the video below to get a glimpse of what happened in one of the religious activities during Peñafrancia Fiesta in Naga City. Special thanks to Naga City Deck for allowing me to accompany them that evening and for the ride too! Viva el Divino Rostro. Viva! |
