"Never underestimate the power of #storytelling to spark others to dream and reach for the brightest star." I ended my February with something very close to my heart. Last weekend, I read the story about "The Boy Who Ate the Stars" to grade 3 pupils of West Fairview Elementary School together with my #SSEAYP batchmate #SPY Nigel who creatively acted out the story for the children's amusement. I never thought it will be one of the most moving and rewarding experience I will ever have as part of SSEAYP. Almost 3 years since the first time we met each other, our Singaporean counterparts flew to the Philippines last weekend for our social contribution activity --- Project Hope Philippines now on it's 3rd year! #AmbassadorofGoodwill #PPY #PPA #ProjectHopePhilippines #myLifestyle #Voluntourism #OnceaPYalwaysaPY #MakeADifferenceOneTripatATime ![]() SPYs flew to Philippines to extend their assistance and donations as well as actively participate in our SSEAYP joint post program activity. More than the glitz and the glamour of being appointed as one of the Philippine Ambassadors of Goodwill, our experience and relationships made during the 39th Ship for South East Asian Youth Program enabled us to collaborate with other ASEAN youth. I'm very happy to share that because of SSEAYP, we are able to touch each other lives as well as give back to our community. This year's activities for Project Hope Philippines included Mingo feeding, storytelling sessions, workshop sessions on leadership, theatre and disaster management and turn-over of books, school materials, and sound system for the school. SINGAPOREANS AS VOLUNTOURISTS! VOLUNTOURISM. It's More Fun in the Philippines. I'm still recovering from last weekend's activity. Super tired yet I'm happy to be part of this year's PPA. I still have my hoarse voice but I feel contented knowing that I was able to encourage the young ones to give a voice to their dreams... I didn't expect these heartwarming #letters from my grade 3 pupils. I was also crowned as princess with the paper crown the girls made for me during our break time. Spending my weekend with them was worth it! Through simple storytelling, we're able to touch each other's lives. We successfully completed our 3rd#ProjectHopePhilippines. PPYs are already thinking where we'll have our next PPA in 2016. #SSEAYP #makeadifferenceonetripatatime #SoleSearchingSoul Check these IG video for a glimpse of what happened during our Project Hope Philippines 2015 last weekend at
