Many great minds have said that the internet is a great equalizer and I believe in this statement. To some extent, #mylifestyle now is a proof how connectivity leveled the playing field especially for young professionals like me who chose to live in the province.
Using my Globe postpaid plan, I was able to discover the wonderful world of workcation. When I was the brand officer of a famous flipflops for South Luzon, I travelled to CALABARZON area for business development and events. I was able to work outside the office, access my email, send reports while I’m on the road and still manage our social media accounts from wherever I am --- all thanks to my reliable network.
Even when I traveled abroad, roaming service made it easier for me to stay connected and manage my life. I was able to communicate to my family and friends using their special roaming promos in partnership with foreign network providers.
My Globe postpaid perfectly suits #mylifestyle plan!
I have wonderful workcation moments with Globe.
Making a Difference One Trip at A Time can best summarize my lifestyle. This personal Passion + Purpose statement gives you an overview of who I am and what I do. I don't just travel for leisure, but for the greater purpose of learning, unlearning and relearning… I travel to discover more about myself while creating meaningful connections and helping out communities. I travel to document the beauty of the Philippines and its people… to share more positive stories and encourage others to choose the Philippines.
YouTube. To create more interesting videos and have an active YouTube Channel is one of my online goals.
Living a Life rich in Experience. I choose to have a life, to be in touch with the people close to my heart beyond the 8-5 job. I choose to live every moment as if it’s my last and dance to the beat. I choose to be connected wherever I am. I post live updates about what I do as it happens especially when I’m on a trip or attending events, not to brag but to inspire others to live the life they’ve always wanted.
Interacting with digital influencers and inspiring people. I believe that in order for me to be excellent at what I do, I need to surround myself with like-minded individuals who serves as mentors and inspiration. I feel privileged to be given the chance to interact with some of the great minds and my idols in the industries I’m highly interested.
Fun and lots of it. I’m a believer of Fun Theory and how it can change the work environment. I love spreading the Fun virus to everyone and sharing to the world why it’s more fun in the Philippines
Empower local businesses and homegrown brands through digital marketing. As a digital marketer, I was able to introduce some innovations in the province where I chose to stay and work with independent brands like Avenue Plaza Hotel to make it Bicol’s trailblazer in the hospitality industry. Applying what I’ve learned about digital marketing for better customer service, business development and sales, Avenue Plaza received recognition and awards from different institutions.
Sole Searching Soul. More than just being a blog, this is my campaign to encourage others to find their calling and pursue their passion.I also wish to inspire other promdi through my journey documented in this blog so that they may find courage to confidently achieve the best that they can be.
Teaching in and outside the classroom. For the past 2 years, I was given the chance to teach some major subjects in media studies at Ateneo de Naga University. Right now, I can consider myself a mobile teacher… my classroom is the world. I impart knowledge and share my experiences through my #SSStalk.
Yo-yo. Yup, this best describes my weight. But this year, I’m working on my wellness goal so that I can be fitter for El Nido and other island getaway for summer!
Limelight. Because of my passion and advocacies, respected organizations started noticing what I do and invite me to deliver keynote message or give a talk. With my quest for excellence, I also received some awards and nominations. On a lighter side, I had my share of limelight when I became part of a TVC and print ads of local diner in Bicol. ;-)
Engage the community. I create experiences that engage stakeholders and open opportunities for everyone especially for my fellow young professionals who consciously chose to stay and serve in the province. Together with the support of my community, I was able to organize some activities like Date in Daet and #SSStaycation which generated both offline and online engagement.
Pray As You Go. To keep up with my digital lifestyle, I installed this PAGY app in my phone for my daily dose of spiritual retreat and examen. As I continuously grow my faith, I wish to be always grounded and thankful to the Lord for all the wonderful blessings as well as for the daily miracles I’m about to receive.
Love what you do. Cliché but it’s really true. I love what I’m doing right now even if it’s challenging and brought me to some state of uncertainty yet my strong passion makes me survive and thrive.
Ambassador of Goodwill and Fun. Advocate. I participate in social contribution activities for nation building through volunteer works. Through my various trips here and abroad, I also ventured into VolunTourism, finding the perfect mix of doing good and leisure. I advocate for inclusive growth through tourism and encourage others to visit the Philippines. I promote cross cultural understanding and with the upcoming ASEAN integration, I’m working on my ASEAN tourism advocacy.
North Star. Shine bright and be the guiding light. Shower others with your stardust so that they can also shine and be their own north star. I'm thankful for all the people who continuously shower me with their supports and open up opportunities for me so that my star can shine brighter.
My digital nomadic lifestyle makes it hard for my mother to explain what kind of work I do. One time I overheard her friend asking “Anong trabaho ni Apple?” maybe out of curiosity after seeing me at home during weekdays when I should be at the office by normal standard. Mama answered “Ah basta hawak nyan un cellphone nya at nakaharap sa laptop, yan trabaho nyan!” I can’t help but smile.
Mama used to tell her friends that my work is “Maglakwatsa!” Now, her description has evolved and all because I’m always at home. It was last year when I decided to take it slow and spend more time with my family after my mother was rushed to the emergency room several times in 2013. I realized that quality time with family was one thing I sacrificed for the past years that I’ve been busy with my professional and volunteer work. Taking it slowly means opting to stay at home as long as possible when I do not have a trip or a speaking engagement on my schedule instead of going out.
It was during this time that I got to spend quality time with mama and persuaded her to take dibs on my digital lifestyle. My sister and I have been encouraging her to use Facebook so that she can check what’s happening with the rest of us but she always say no and makes her eye problem or headache as an alibi. My relatives teased me that I’m teaching others how to become a netizen but my own mother is not even on Facebook. As it turns out, Mama only needs a one-on-one tutorial, you know, just like any late bloomer in technology. So one time I was home, I patiently taught her how to navigate her tablet, showed her what she can do with it, how Facebook and other apps can add new color to her lifestyle.
Today, I’m proud to share that Mama is now active online! There are even days she would flood my notification with likes and comments. All thanks to FREE Facebook by Globe, she got to practice her Facebook skills!!! :-))
Using Globe mobile data, she is also able to talk to my dad who’s working abroad through Viber. Aside from the usual call and text, their conversation is now filled with wonderful moments through Skype. My dad does not have to wait for his contract to end just to see his pet dogs and witness the adventures of the newest addition to our family, Rara and Pompei. Mama regularly updates him through Facebook by posting photos of the dogs at home and exchange comments with relatives. My mother’s daily life is now filled with digital wonder. She found a new way to create wonderful moments with us even when we are not at home, thanks to her Globe powered tablet.
I love to capture wonderful moments and share stories even before I started blogging. Everywhere I go, I fill my world with wonder. Approach me and we can talk anything under the sun for hours. Look at my albums and you’ll see hundreds of videos and thousands of photos from my day to day life and trips. Using my iPhone 4s, I ventured into mobile videography to document my travel and share it to my family and friends once I’m home. Soon, I also found myself making teaser videos for my work as part of the content for our social media accounts.
