By normal standard, I am jobless. I do not report to any office and render 40 to 48 work hours per week. I am officially unemployed by preference just recently. Yes, I am jobless and I love it!
Jobless person invited by Ateneo de Naga University to talk during the Seniors' Career Day?!
Yes, that's right. Five years after my college graduation, my alma mater Ateneo de Naga University invited me to share my work experience to the graduating students who will attend the Seniors' Career Day tomorrow. My counselors from the College Guidance Office extended their formal invitation hoping that I can talk about my first-hand experience on actual job search, perks of having a job, challenges and realities of the work world as well as career related matters.
ON BUILDING MY CAREER AND
MAKING MY OWN PATH
From a jack of all trade in 2009 who wants to do so many things at the same time, now I am specializing on Digital Marketing. I must admit that the road to where I am now has been very challenging with some roadblocks and fallback.
Good thing I am surrounded by great people and mentors. It was my college chairperson Dr.Digna Paner who gave me this very helpful book. Aside from the career counseling sessions I had with my guidance family, What Color is your Parachute? also helped me in identifying what values I want to serve in my life which also guided me in pursuing a career, not just a job.
CROSSROAD OF OPTIONS & POSSIBILITIES. Ang daming interesting job openings and offers...very tempting lalo na ang compensation package at benefits kaso most of it will entail relocation for some time. I'm reminding myself the many reasons why I chose to work in the province and finding more reasons why I should stay. It's an on-going battle but a great one.
