Get ready for a fun filled summer getaway in Bicol Region. Less than 400 kilometers away from Metro Manila, it is highly accessible by land, air and sea transportation which makes it a perfect destination for your next vacation and out-of-town trip with family and friends.
In one of his interviews, DOT Sec.Jimenez said that Bicol is one of the up and coming destinations. Curious what you can do in Bicol? Check these Top 5 reasons why you visit Bicol this Summer!

Where’s the best place to start and end your tour of Bicolandia? Make it to the Heart of Bicol --- Naga City. Many of my friends from the big cities usually get surprised with what this city can offer aside from its rich culture and church history. From luxurious accommodation at Avenue Plaza Hotel to budget friendly hotel like Naga Manor which are stone throw away from gimmick places along Magsaysay Avenue, to a fresh date with nature at Mt. Isarog and adventure rush at CamSur Watersports Complex, you can always find something for you when you are in Naga.

(Sometimes with Mayon Volcano as background)
I’ve been to Albay countless times but I’m still mesmerized by the beauty of the majestic Mayon Volcano every time I see it. If you wonder what’s the best way to take a photo with Mayon Volcano as the background, why not experiment with your camera and take countless trick shots. If you visit Cagsawa Ruins, there are optional tour guides who will share some history of the volcano’s eruptions and yes, they will also be very happy to take the trick shots for you. Let your imagination run wild and you’ll have a photo souvenir that’s more fun than the usual wacky shots you have.

Honestly, I’ve only been to Caramoan Peninsula recently for an overnight stay but even with the very short visit, I really love it. My solemates for this trip were very eager to visit the this hidden gem that's why despite the big waves, we rented a small boat and conquered our fears just to be able to reach Gota Village Resort which the international reality TV show Survivor US use at their base during their shoot. Rock formations, white sands, crystal clear water with rich marine life and not so “touristy” islands will surely make you feel like a survivor player. You can even enjoy the cove and the beachfront just for you and your friends.
I also plan to go back to Caramoan this summer and
try the newest their newest adventure activity... CLIFF DIVING!!!
4. Swim with the Gentle Giants
I have seen big stars and highly influential people but I never get star struck until I saw the whale shark in Donsol,Sorsogon. Every time people ask me how my swimming experience with Butanding was, my memory brings me back to the moment that I literally forget to breathe. The season for these little giants starts as early as December until May. Seeing the whale shark and swimming close to it is indeed a breath taking moment that’s why the Butanding Interaction in Sorgoson is one of the things you shouldn’t miss this summer.

My friends who are into surfing lately would usually invite me to La Union or other places. With my busy schedule, I never had the chance to join them. I’ve heard of Bagasbas Beach in Daet Camarines Norte quite some time now as a place for surfing enthusiasts and I was fortunate enough to be with the Bicol Association of Travel & Tour Operators during their Familiarization Tour where I was able to ride the waves. I’m just a newbie yet I enjoyed my Surfing 101 lessons. A surfing instructor will give you the basic moves and assist you all the time.
