Honestly, I feel that the Php 250 entrance fee is very affordable considering all the inclusions in the package! For a fun lover like me, the unlimited slide is enough to make me go crazy for Maxima.
They also offer discount not only to senior citizens and students but also to teachers too which is a big plus! With their super affordable fee inclusive of unlimited water activities, no wonder Maxima attracts a lot of fun-loving tourists.
Swim. Slide. Dive. Fly!
These are just some of the things you can do when you visit Maxima which will surely cure your rainy day blues.
The giant Water Slide and Water Blob are the two major attractions you shouldn't miss! Why?! Just check these photos!
Face your fears. FUN is a good therapy!
Our fun time in Maxima also serves as my friend's play therapy. Jen is from Tacloban and one of the survivors of supertyphoon yolanda. Somehow, she managed to conquer her fear of water and heights while trying the giant slide and water blob. Watch her conquer her fears by having fun!
I would definitely love to go back to Maxima with my friends. Hopefully you too can visit this facility when are you in Davao. Hop to the ferry going to Island Garden City of Samal to get your dose of adrenaline and adventure!
At 216 lbs, people who haven't seen me personally often get shocked because of my portraits and tons of selfie. They usually tell me that my photos are very deceiving because I look thin. They thought I am slim and didn't have any idea that I am still a full-figured lady.
Growing up, I don't really remember being in my ideal weight. I have been battling with my obesity since high school but that didn't stop me from finding ways on how to me more confident and comfortable with my body. One of my coping mechanisms includes facing the mirror and talking to myself, acknowledging my imperfections and highlighting my best features which then led me to my best angle.
I used to avoid joining group pictures and even our family photo because I feel so awkward with my chubby face. I feel ugly whenever I see the prints and I cannot photoshop every photo just for me to look good. I have to be honest that out of feeling down, I even considered liposuction and other treatments. It came to a point that I was secretly wishing for Dra.Vicky Belo to become my fairygod mother!
Watch this short video clip from my instagram and see for yourself why angle matters.
I hope this video makes your day. Share your selfie tips and let's take more beautiful portraits!
Know your best angle and you'll never look less pretty
or fat in your photographs.
Look at my most recent selfies and you'll realize that you too can look prettier with just a little twist and change in attitude. It maybe superficial but for a woman like me who constantly battles with weight issues, it's a big help when we can see our self-portraits a little better than the past.
Vanity aside, it is important that you are familiar with your best angle. That way, you'll feel good about yourself and somehow you'll feel more confident too.
Regardless of your weight, color, shape and size, remember that
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!

From a far, it looks like a lighthouse in the middle of the open sea but once you get closer, you'll notice that it is something different... something far more intriguing and was even once controversial.
This is by far the most sexy islet I've ever seen!
Maybe even the smallest among the 7107 islands in the Philippines.
Come a little bit close and you'll realize it is a PHALLIC ISLAND.
Believe it or not, it's actually real and full of life!
See the shrubs on top?! Locals call this "Boto ni Kurakog" and its existence comes with a very interesting story... an undying love of an immortal guy named "Kurakog" to a mortal lady of Bagamanoc named "Kalarab". Wondering how Kurakog's penis came to life?
Know the full story and watch the video soon on Choose Philippine's YouTube channel.
This was one of the major highlights of my trip in Catanduanes. Together with Choose Philippines team, we visited the coastal municipality of Bagamanoc which is approximately 2-3 hours away from the capital town of Virac.
Onboard his personal speedboat, former Vice-Governor Vince Villaluna together with Armie, Glenda and Buboy, staff of Catanduanes Provincial Tourism Office, brought us to this famous landmark facing the vast Pacific Ocean and also a site of folk fertility rites for locals and even tourists.
Sir Vince also shared that despite the numerous typhoon and strong waves, this five foot islet made of soil and loose rocks remains proud and strong. I guess despite the controversies surrounding its name, Boto ni Kurakog is here to stay.
